Torrison Eye Care was founded by Don Torrison in 1980.

After decades of serving patients in a shared optical space, he recognized the need for a dedicated practice specializing in ocular prosthetics.

Many of our long-time patients have enjoyed getting to know our ocularists over the years, so we’ve provided a brief introduction below.

In Memoriam: Don Torrison, Founder

Upon returning to Omaha following his military service in WWII, Don filled the need to provide prosthetic eyes to an influx of post-war veterans. He dedicated his career to ocularistry, extending his care to local and regional patients for decades.

A man of many talents, Don was an avid woodworker who brought the same precision to his craft as he did to his profession. In his retirement, he embraced traveling the world to fulfill his wife Elvera’s lifelong dream of experiencing different cultures and landscapes. Don’s legacy of service and craftsmanship remains the foundation of our practice.

David Greer, BCO

David apprenticed with his father-in-law Don and was entrusted to take ownership and continue evolution of patient care in 1986. He and his wife, Darlene are avid fans of hockey and love to support the local Omaha Lancers and as alumni, the UNO Mavericks. 

As retirement transition continues, he has enjoyed the increased time dedicated to bass fishing, fishing trips, watching fishing, and talking about fishing.

Trevor Greer, COT, pending BCO

David's son Trevor returned to Omaha in 2017 to begin a 7 year apprenticeship. In his decade away, he attended St Mary's University (MN), University of Minnesota, married, then gained ophthalmic and surgical technician experience in Minneapolis and Seattle.

Trevor is now the primary ocularist and takes pride in ensuring every patient is happy and comfortable. 

Golfing is his preferred pastime. He and his wife have enjoyed making friends through co-ed softball in each city they've lived in. Their primary hobby is being active parents of two young children but they collectively enjoy football, traveling, and quality time with extended family and friends.​
